Terms and Policies

The Goal

The client will learn the fundamentals of music performance:

• Cello:
• Proper technique—exercises to strengthen fingers and build dexterity/finger independence, vibrato, thumb position exercises, proper bow placement and handling
• Piano:
• Proper technique—exercises to strengthen fingers and build dexterity/finger independence, appropriate finger placements for the keyboard
• Ear Training—building intonation and pitch recognition
• Theory—major/minor scales, recognizing key signatures, chord analysis, tempos, rhythm patterns and finger patterns
• Sight-reading—strengthening quickness and efficiency in reading music

Lesson Rates

The client has the choice of a 30-minute lesson at $40 per lesson, a 45-minute lesson at $45 per lesson, or a one-hour lesson at $50 per lesson. One-hour lessons are more productive and a better value. 30 or 45-minute lessons may be more appropriate for younger and beginning students.

Payment Policy

Payments for the month are due and payable in advance at the first lesson of the month. Payments not made at the first lesson of the month are subject to a $10 late fee. In the event that the client misses the payment date, payment must be made before the start of the second lesson. New students fees will be prorated for the first month.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance or the full lesson rate will be charged. Make-up Lessons for Lessons cancelled with 24-hour advance notice must be scheduled within the following four week period.
