Musical Background
Lauren Harvey received her Bachelor’s degree in cello performance from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. During her course of music training, she served as principal cellist for the Cal Poly Symphony and participated in an array of musical groups: Polyphonics, Early Music Ensemble, Spring musicals, and the San Luis Obispo Community Symphony. At the moment, she is performing with a local community orchestra and residing in Mission Viejo. Music has always been an important part of Lauren’s life. At the age of five, she began taking piano lessons. Five years later she decided to add the cello to her musical attributes. As a life-long resident of Orange County, Lauren performed with local and honor orchestras all throughout grade school and into high school. She studied both classical and pop music for piano but concentrated mostly on classical for the cello. At the end of her junior year of high school Lauren completed the final level for Certificate of Merit in piano. That same year she also received her high school diploma for piano performance from the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Lauren firmly believes that music lessons are a great way for students to develop character, self-discipline, and confidence as well as many other skills essential to life. |
